Tribal Expansion

The Tribal Expansion Program

So you want to join the Uruk-hai but you don’t have a local tribe you can be part of? If you live in the Eastern part of the United States you can join through our tribal expansion program.

What will I need?

You will need at least 3 people to start an expansion tribe. They need to have equipment and garb (preferably one set olive drab colored each) so they can participate in combat.  You will need to be part of a full contact fighting group (realm of Belegarth or chapter of Dagorhir) that holds regular practices or hold your own practice on a regular basis. The tribe will need an official name i.e. “Bloodfury tribe” and a tribe symbol that represents the tribe.  The title of the leader will be “Warhost” and those chosen by the Warhost as members of the tribe will be “tribesmen” or “tribeswoman”.

Ok we got that done, what next?

Next you need to have the Warhost contact the Warlord, Cairbre Madog, and inform him you have an expansion tribe ready to join the Uruk-hai. He will then ask you some questions regarding the group and leadership and history. The Warlord will set the next event that you can bring your tribesmen to present the ones that you think are good enough to be Uruk-hai  to the entire unit of the Uruk-hai, it will most likely be Beltane, Oktoberfest or another major event in the year. The Warlord will set some requirements for your group; number of guys, level of participation, etc: to get your expansion tribe ready for the event. He may even send a unit member to check out your tribe before they show up to the event.

The important thing is the Warlord will want to ensure that the Uruk-hai is right for your tribesmen and they are what we are looking for in new recruits for the Uruk-hai. If the Warlord wishes it your tribe will be added to the Uruk-hai webpage under the listing “Expansion Tribe”. This is just to recognize that there is a tribe starting to form in your area and direct people in your area to the tribe, it is not an indication that you are an official part of the Uruk-hai yet just that you are working towards becoming part of the Uruk-hai.

What happens at your first event?

At your first event you will be required to meet the Warlords requirements. Your group will be allowed to fight with the unit during the event and will be expected to show up on time to all unit activities including promotions, awards, and fighting. The unit as a whole will evaluate and openly discuss strong and weak points that your tribe and its members show. Based off your field performance and how you carry yourself at the event the full members of the Uruk-hai may vote to promote your Warhost and Tribesmen to ‘Grunts’ and may choose to promote your expansion tribe  to become an official tribe of the Uruk-hai.  All grunts and all new tribes have a 1 year probation period in the Uruk-hai.

What should I not do?

You should not wear the Uruk-hai ork skull (chompy). Only grunts may wear the skull, and only Ravagers and officers may wear the ork skull in the center of their chest armor. Like the skull you should not wear green or red torso armor.  You should not advertise yourself as a member of the Uruk-hai. You may say that you are going to sign up for the Uruk-hai. You should not wear full body or full face makeup so you look like an ork, the Uruk-hai is not about playing dress up, but fighting hard and looking ferociously frightening.  Under no circumstances should you say that you are a member of the Uruk-hai until you receive grunt status.

What can you do?

Once you have an official expansion tribe name and symbol you can flaunt that tribal symbol in your garb, armor, and shield cover. You should be proud of your local group and actively train as a team.  You should strike up conversations with current members of the Uruk-hai, specifically Ravagers and officers. Learn what it means to be part of the unit. So when you are a member of the Uruk-hai you can present yourself properly when you are a Grunt.
